Rajasthan Royals is a renowned team in the Indian Premier League, the world’s second-biggest sports tournament, watched by over 1.5 billion fans globally.
The team sought to visually define their renewed spirit and revamped squad through an illustration to be posted after the Mega-Auction. Upon successfully completing that significantly challenging task, I was commissioned a series of illustrations that would engage and excite their fan base throughout the season.

The auction piece for the Rajasthan Royals was an exhilarating challenge that unfolded during the team's mega auction. The Royals' content team approached me with a unique request—to create an illustration featuring their entire squad that would be unveiled immediately after the auction itself. Little did I know that this request would present a thrilling artistic journey, full of uncertainty and immense pressure.
In 2022, teams underwent a complete revamp, with the task of signing an entirely new squad. As an artist, I have always had a vision or a sense of where my work is headed, but this time, I found myself in uncharted territory. With less than 40 hours to complete the final piece, I took on this challenge with no preconceived idea of the outcome.
Once the individual player illustrations were completed, a pivotal task remained—piecing together these elements in a cohesive and impactful manner. The composition had to be crafted meticulously, akin to a sequential comic, ensuring that each player's unique traits were highlighted and recognizable to the fans.
The final composition successfully brought together these individual scenes and pieces, capturing the essence of each player while creating a harmonious narrative.
MY ROLE
Following the auction, I continued to illustrate various moments throughout the season, resulting in a collection of over 30 artworks.

OUTCOME
With the final Mega-Auction Illustration successfully captured the essence of each player while creating a harmonious narrative.
The collection of illustrations throughout the season celebrated key moments such as the road to the finals and Jos Butler's Individual Trophies piece called "Excess Baggage," featuring him taking all his winnings back to England.
I believe I managed to capture the team's indomitable spirit, enhancing the Rajasthan Royals' visual presence across social media, marketing, and print media.
